BOOK BOUND 2016 is a wrap!
A glimpse of how it went is on this blog post and here is the amazing line up of agents we had attending this year’s retreat. The weekend was filled with revision workshops, insider information, the low down on what they and the industry are looking for and opportunities to join a community of writers in a similar place in their writing journeys. The retreat was once again be held at the stunning Oxon Hoath manor house in Kent and we hope to welcome you to the next one!

The primary Book Bound event is a weekend getaway, the first of which was held on 9-11 May 2014. The first sold out retreat was a huge success for the 24 children’s book writers at the stunning Oxon Hoath manor house in Kent. The second was too!

Each attendee applies and is accepted based on the strength of their writing and they come together to enjoy a weekend of workshops, one-on-one assessments, professional guidance and development tips. The weekend culminates in the opportunity to meet influential literary agents from the children’s publishing industry such as: Julia Churchill from AM Heath, Zoe King from the Blair Partnership, Polly Nolan from the Greenhouse Agency, Hannah Sheppard from DHH Literary Agency, Amber Caraveo from Skylark Literary, Penny Holroyde from Holroyde Cartey, Jenny Savill from Andrew Nurnberg Associates Ltd, Sallyanne Sweeney, Mulcahy Associates, and Felicity Trew, Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency.

Front of Oxon Hoath country estateBook Bound offers writers the tools and advice to help rework their manuscript, improve their writing, and, ultimately, we hope, find an agent and publisher. In addition to intensive writing workshops, the retreat offered the full picture of the publication process, an honest sense of what acquiring editors are looking for and the know-how to make the right first impression, both in person and in submissions to publishers.
