Sarah Davies, The Greenhouse Literary Agency
Sarah Davies founded The Greenhouse Literary Agency when she moved to the US in 2007 after a long career as a UK children’s publisher. She now divides her time between London and New York.
Sarah has been an editor most of her life and has considerable experience in contract negotiation, marketing and rights. As an agent, she has launched many debut writers into publishing deals, and her authors include New York Times bestsellers and many other recipients of awards and accolades. Excellent publishing contacts in both the USA and Britain, and many years spent living in both countries, have given her an unusually transatlantic view of the children’s books industry, from both sides of the desk.
A member of AAR, Sarah is usually in the top 5 agents selling Middle Grade and Young Adult fiction into the US market (according to Publishers Marketplace), and has crossed America and Europe talking about children’s books and writing craft. She says, ‘Everything you need to know about Greenhouse is in its name.’

Felicity Trew, Caroline Sheldon Literary Agents
My list is open to every sort of work. I particularly devour contemporary and historical fiction and quirky and imaginative children’s books.
Dream projects to arrive on my desk today might include: a spellbinding novel for our time, a bold contemporary UK teen voice, an accessible, well-plotted (and don’t hold back on the funny) book for middle grade and a potentially classic picture book text for younger children. It is also my mission to build up a list of extraordinary illustrators who capture the life of their characters and have a real love of storytelling at the heart of their artwork.
I am an unremittingly passionate advocate of those I represent; I love the challenge of finding the best home for them in the market – that perfect place on the shelf.
